El tejido Ripstop tiene una estructura reforzada, por lo que es resistente a los desgarros gracias a su patrón en forma de malla formado por hilos finos y más gruesos entrelazados. Si hay un desgarro en la tela, se reducirá a la circunferencia del cuadrado. Ya que es un material ligero, se utiliza a menudo en actividades al aire libre, lo que requiere una sólida experiencia técnica.
El ante está hecho a partir de la parte inferior de la piel de vacuno previamente cepillada para hacerla más suave y flexible. Procede de granjas del sur de Brasil (Rio Grande do Sul).
