El nubuck se fabrica a partir del grano del cuero. Es la parte superior de la piel, la más densa en fibras, lo que la hace más suave y resistente, pero también más cualitativa. Esta parte se muele o se raspa para darle un aspecto suave y aterciopelado. Este nobuck se traza a lo largo del proceso. También está recubierto con aceites hidrófugos para proteger las zapatillas contra la lluvia ligera. Las tenerías que trabajan con VEJA están certificadas por el Leather Working Group. La piel ChromeFree es suave y ligera. También procede de explotaciones del sur de Brasil (Rio Grande do Sul) y se somete a un innovador proceso de curtido en el que no se utilizan cromo, metales pesados ni ácidos peligrosos. La simplificación del proceso de curtido limita el uso de productos químicos y energía, y reduce el uso de agua en un 40% aproximadamente y de sal en un 80%. Después del curtido, el agua es reciclable. La piel ChromeFree se utiliza en toda la colección de piel Kids. Fabricado en Brasil.
